Over the past few days I have noticed a lot of aggression between my hog fish and my other fish except for the two percs. I have a feeling this is what led to the dimise of my tomato clown and as of this morning my sixlined wrasse. So my question is how do I get rid of the aggression or will I have to move him out?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
In my experience once a fish begins aggression you are unable to change that behavior long term. You can try different interventions like changing scape around to establish new territories but that is usually a temp. fix. Some people tape a mirror to the side of the tank, but again not a permanent solution either. With that said I have never had this type of fish before so I can not speak to it's tendency to be aggressive.

From all the research I have done on it, it is supposed to be a peaceful fish and from what I have seen I have one that is not, I did try the rescaping and it worked for a whole day lol, so would the best option be to try and find it a new home? It is def causing a lot of stress on some of my favorite fish and do not want to lose anymore.

I think trying to get the LFS to give you store credit may be best idea at this stage

if you have trief the re aquascape and found that its a personality issue with this particular fish, then its going to be a problem with other new introductions that it decides it does not want in its tank IME

Thanks Steve I gave them a call and they said they would be more than happy to do that for me, I am really learning that fish do have their own personalities and that they do not always follow suite with research and description lol

thats good news on the credit

It can be frustrating, when you have done the research and find that you have fish that according to compatibility charts should not be an issue that in reality are just not getting along together

Ive had a few instances of that
the books say they will be fine
but the fish themselves obviously never read those books LOL

Yes I am lucky and have a great LFS and they def help me out with questions and with their past experiences. It is very frustrating at times but its all part of the learning curve I guess, and I really think I am going to start reading some of these books to the fish and coral so they know how they are supposed to act. Maybe I just might send them to fishy school lol but I def think this is just another part of the learing process for me!

I had a Tomini tang that turned into a demon fish and led to the death of my favorite fish, my BlueJaw trigger. Ultimately I had to take the fish out and take him back to a LFS, they placed it in a 1200 gallon tank, so it cant be too territorial in that size tank!

Sounds to me like you have a plan to take it out. Every fish is different, you can have aggressive fish that are timid, and timid fish that are extreme bullies!

Yea he is def the bully he thinks he runs the tank, he will be sleeping and another fish moves he is right there in a matter of seconds to see whats going on, and luckly he is going to be easy to catch he swims right to me when I am in or around the tank lol
