Yes, unfortunately the movie "Finding Nemo" is responsible for thousands of dead Clownfish.

Have you ever noticed when nemo is trying to get out of the dentist’s aquarium, most kinds are rooting for nemo. The when the movie is over, “I want a nemo fish”

well, last time i went to the LFS
this lady came in and looked at the corals. 10 mins later she was buying an anemone with a a nemo clownfish hosting it..

she was like " i want to buy that nemo and the anemone please" the guy from the lfs asked how old was her tank she said....

" oh i set up my tank yesterday... it only has a goldfish."
after my lfs explained her how that was impossible.. we found out that..

    1) she was trying to put an anemone and clownfish on a freshwater tank
    2) the tank was 5gallons i think...
    3) she didnt have any type of lights
    4) the tank had literally less than a day set up and already had a fish

and then went she went out the store i could see she was angry because my LFS didnt sell her the nemo and its anemone. He also explained her the right thing to do but im guessing she wasnt really paying attention.

Some people just can't comprehend the whole freshwater/saltwater thing. I took my ex-girlfriend out on the lake one time (200 miles from the gulf....) and she says..."so..is this freshwater or saltwater?" I wanted to throw her overboard. She would have found out then.

Hahaha great stories! I have one about my self baaack in the high school days. :kid: (dont hate me) I bought my gf a 5 gallon tank and threw 6 fancy tailed guppies in the tank. (for an anniversary gift) I did all this cool things like put a bubble treasure chest and a ring in the chest...I know cute huh.

Well it wasn't cute after about 5 days she had a tank full of dead guppies. :dead: hahaha I didnt understand what cycling was or anything (set it up the day I put the fish in). The funny thing is she was crying about them dying and stuff...

We are not together anymore, I believe the guppies were trying to tell me something :p

These stories are sooo funny but also show how little people know about the hobby.
I once met this lady in my lfs and she had started a tank 3 month prior and of course ALL her fish had died... she said, she couldn't be bothered and that the lfs guys should have taken care of the tank... of course without charging... it was quite entertaining to watch this and I don't want to be in the shoes of a lfs salesperson ... customers just expect things to work out if they spend that much money on a fish or coral.
But jeeez.... then stick to the goldfish!!!!!
