How do I do it? I want to take the cover off the impeller(s) so that I can fully clean the 3 powerheads(all the same model) I have for my 29g. Right now they are covered in a mix of sugar-fine sand/detritus/and a bit of old algae. The brown color does not look good against my black glass. haha

I think they are supposed to twist and then just pull off? I couldn't get it...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

No they pull straight out. Pull down slightly from edge.

I suppose it helps if both I and the powerhead are dry..

One of them had a problem at start up, so I took it apart again and put it back together.

But I now have 3 clean pumps, all in working order!

Vinegar soaks to remove scale is good when you clean them. They will start better.

Thanks for the tip. I will try that if I have this problem again.

It maybe a while with the nanos before they bind up from scale. The 750 and bigger do it fairly quickly when dosing with sodium carbonate but nowhere near as fast when using sodium bicarbonate.

haha. I read that fast the first time and got really confused. I should slow down when I read.
