well after my 225 got cracked ive decided to take it apart either to be used for baffles in my sump or to rebuild it.this is my first time taking a tank apart so i can use opinions. how do i remove the plastic trim with out cracking it? and whats the best ways to split the seams? i was thinking some sort of scraper for the plastic and mabe a piece of wire for the seams?

i used the larger exacto knives and just went to town on the silicone in the bracing, and also make sure you got a box of the blades, and then alot of elbow grease..;D

maybe you should take a bunch of pics for us to use in the future..

I used a dremel to cut the plastic trim into small sections then PULL stright up on the small sections. It was very hard work, lol. I gave up after getting the top trim off so that's as far as I can help.

    LOL. Sorry to here that.

My aunt in law dropped her phone in the toilet at a club and before she could get it out the toilet flushed and her phone vanished. We were all like "you did what?" lol

Lol. I have yet to drop a phone in water, knock on wood. I tried to take the trim off in one piece at first but I couldn't get the corners to come up. That silicone can be very strong when it wants to be.

Lots of time and effort with exacto blades and utility knife blades..

As to the glass to glass seams use dental floss not wire.. the wire can catch and have nasty shattering effects. (from experience :( )
