I am sorry and do not mean to be a jerk but this isn't a cell phone, you are not limited to how many characters you type. Because its kind of hard to read I tried clean it up a little bit.

I am lighting my canopy this weekend so I have a few questions. Retro end caps are they the same for the T5 as the T5HO? - HO lamps have the same diameter and length as standard T5 lamps so no they are the same.

Or is it just the bulbs and the ballast that are different? - Just the bulbs, a 48" HO bulb is 54 watts and a regular output bulb is only 28W. The Ballasts are no different, a workhorse 6 ballast can be used with T5HO, T5, and Compact fluorescent, it will run 2-54 watt bulbs and only 1-54 watt bulb and a multitude of compact fluorescent ones.

If so what is the difference between the two ballast's in watts per also what is the difference in watts on the bulbs. - Answered above

I only want to do it one time ,using 4-48" for a 75 mixed or should I go with 6 bulbs - Go with 6, if you do not you will be sorry. I have a 75G Reef and use 8 bulbs. But I only burn all 8 every 3rd day any other day I run only 6 bulbs. Have been doing this for the last 2.5 years and seems to work pretty well.
