yeah in a few years when i design my house(I am an architectural Technologist) i am going to building a large tank in my house, i was either thinking a 8 foot long by 3 ft by 3ft or a 6x6x6 cube eventually, so longterm i am planning on upgrading.

Yeah I love watching triggers eat clams and hard shell things, i think its cool. Lol i will not be hand feeding those guys when they get big. thats what tongs are for.

When you mentioned good filtration i am slightly confused. Currently i just use my live rock, protein skimmer, and macro algae for my reef tank. WHat kind of filtration should i be looking for in a FOWLR? Any extra mechanical?

with that much waste i would go the canister filter route with carbon, or a good fuge but thats nore biological filtration.

i would like to avoid a canister filter as it is extra power consumption but without cleanup crew in this tank i'll probably need it, now you mean like an eheim or fluval? or a media reactor with carbon in it?
