I have seen that behaviour in wrasse, blennies and a lot of other spp. but not in clownfish. I would just try to provide very stable parameters including temp and salinity. Lowering the temp as mentioned will mean that more oxygen can dissolve into the water. This can also cause problems for an already stressed fish, as temperature swings can cause a lot of stress for fish. As long as your skimmer is working, oxygen levels shouldn't be a problem.

This does not look like a swim bladder problem to me. The fish doesn't look too buoyant or look like it's sinking.

i don't have a skimmer yet as it's a new 80g FOWLR, but i have enough flow, lots of surface agitation and 2 airstones. also the water volume is alot for 1 small clown.
i hope everything works out. i'm just worried b/c i lost the other clown.

hydrometer , 1.023. took readings 5 times to ensure accuracy. i didn't do anything that could affect salinity. just a small water change, but i used my regular measurement with the usual salt.
