OMG that has to be lighting overkill. But you should be fine if you mount them high up.

Yea, I plan on mounting the lights pretty high above the tank either from the ceiling or from a light fixture. I ordered the rock from Gulf-view.com and it should be coming in on the 14th. I used Gulf-view.com because they follow my "green theme" because the owner basically harvests rock that he has put in the Gulf of Mexico in 1993, thus he isn't actually taking any rock from naturally occurring reefs. Also, his live rock is replenish-able, he just throws more base rock in!

Glad everyone is as excited as I am about this tank!

Yey! Here are the pictures I promised of the tank with live rock.

Here is the box of live rock! I was so excited about it coming in I forgot to get a bucket of saltwater ready to dip the rock in. I felt kinda stupid.

I love using tropic marine salt. I have used instant ocean but they must have changed their formula or something cause it just doesn't mix well for me anymore. Anyone else having those problems with instant ocean or is it just me?

Little tank full of salt water. I can fit my hands in it pretty well, just have to take some water out or it will overflow easily.

Opened the live rock box and boy, I forget that smell.

Looks like I might have some type of macro algae along with my rock.

    Lots and lots of rock.

Yey! The rock finally made it to the aquarium. I only used a few pieces and put the larger ones in my 55 gallon system to help cure them some.

This is with the PAR30 and I like it but not enough to use it all the time. Makes the tank too blue and I really feel stupid because it has 4 blue LEDS, should have thought about it. I mainly only bought it to see the fluorescence in the sps. But, I don't have any coral!

This is with the PAR38 and I really like the way the aquarium looks with this above it. I will see how everything does under it as I start to order my stock from Sustainable Aquatics. I will take more pictures of it as is starts to mature.
