I currently have a 16w LED ( 6w 10,000k and 10w actinic) lamp right now and I'm looking to balance out the colors from this lamp since it doesn't render reds particularly well and it just feels too blue.

How would I fix this? I was thinking about getting a small strip of LEDs consisting of:

    2x soft white
    3x Amber
    2x Green

    or

    4 x Amber
    3 x Green

    My questions are:

Do you guys think this would make the tank a little less blue?
Is my 16w led lamp enough to grow sps on a small 5g tank?
Is 16w ~4" from the top of a 9" deep tank too much light?
Would the addition of this supplemental strip make the tank way too bright?

Hmmm that looks interesting. What would I need to get in addition to the strip?

the stunner strips are purely sold to accent lighting, they have no actual lighting power so if you were looking for a small led strip to actually intensify your lighting not just change the color i would look into a panorama pro module, the RGB module can change to any color you like.

I'm just trying to render colors a little better. I think the 16w led is enough par. But what else would I need to purchase in addition to the strip? Like what adapter?

purchasing the strip from the site it should come with everything you need to plug it into an outlet or power strip.

Which stunner would be better for balancing out blues and making things more whitish...the full magenta or the magenta/12,000k or the 8,000k even?

probably the 8k i would think, of course that may make things too white for your taste.

Do you think 8,000k would render reds a little better? I looked at all the spectrum graphs for the 8,000k, 12,000k and even the magenta and all had really minimal levels of red and high amounts of blue.

In planted tanks I remember using 8,000k MH lamps which rendered reds okay..but not very great. Also the spectrum graph of the ADA 8000k lamps have much bigger spikes in reds.

The great thing about the stunner strips is you can buy an in-line dimmer for them so if you only want a little more white light, you can get the 8,000 and dial it down to your own taste. I agree, I think the stunner strips are the way to go.
