I got black tubing to avoid algae buildup and because some will have to run outside the stand.

 

first off... is your tube in the stand? try just blocking light from entering the underside of the stand

 

I like this idea and the foam to cover your tubing. I personally like being able to see into my tubes so that I can see what is going on.

 

Yeah, algae growing in the tubing didn't even occur to me when I was building all this. Hmm..where were you?! Lol just kidding! I can buy some black tubing and replace it when/if my current tubing gets too out of control.

There is some tubing outside of the stand - both leaving the overflow box and going back into the tank.

 

I agree - I like the idea of seeing in there. I think I will try the long cleaning brush and foam for awhile and see how it goes.

 

i agree also. there is some weird feeling i have that i should be able to see into it haha.
