    Hi all,

I got my new tank, the 27gallon marine cube and the stand is a tad on the small side. I need a sump that is probably around 18 inches long. the stand is just about 20 inches so i picked up a standard 10 gallon but it didnt fit.

Does anyone have any ideas? I looked at prebuild sumps but couldnt find one that i really like, especially for the price. I might be able to build one if thats not too hard......Please through out some suggestions.

Just build one dude. Get some arcrylic sheets and cut them to length and glue them together. Google it. You will find all the dimensions and diy instructions you need. You can build it to your dimensions without having to pay out the rear for a sump from a fish store.

And Skurious I see you are from Cedar Rapids. I buy almost all of my fish from Sea of Marvels in North Liberty. Please tell me you have been there. I have NEVER bought a sick fish from him or an unhealthy coral. Hung is the MAN!

Yes, Hung is the man. When i still had my 55 i got a pair for clowns from him that were awesome. his display tank is amazing. everything looks great in that store too, not bad on prices either. havent bought too much from him, but he sees to being willing to cut deals.

You know I could have sworn they had actual acrylic tanks on this site and I cant find them. A custom acrylic box is what you really need whether you build it yourself or have someone else do it. Its not as easy as it sounds to diy unless you are handy. A rubbermaid or other container will also work just make sure its made out of good plastic I.E. food safe or better.
If I can find you the right site I will link it here for you.

Thanks, do you think one of those would work though? i know its not ideal but i dont have too many options other than DIY. Im willing to put in the time to build one, but would rather find an alternative such as this.
