No really sure what you are looking for help on specifically?

I am not familiar with the exact style of plumbing you are referring to and your picture is not labeled so its kinda tough to tell what you plan on doing by the picture shown . . .

please don't get discouraged, we will always try our best to help! can you take a picture of you aquarium and draw exactly what you want to do or find a similar setup on google images? i'm sure someone can help, just need more info. also, slate bottom tanks are really old school, very few people will know how to drill them.

+1 to this . . . if you want help you need to give help with getting help . . . if that makes any sense.

To me, the description under your drawings said "I want some water to flow down, and I want some water to flow back in the tank. I don't want a flood."

Pretty hard to tell you to change anything or offer advice with blanket statements like that. Labeling your drawing would help. Which pipe is which? What sizes? What level? Where is the water level? Are you trying to get away with not using an overflow box?

We dont really know what you want to do so it's pretty tough to offer good advice based on such little information . . .

i just checked out scott's 90G wave and he is using a calflo or bean animal setup in which all 3 of those piped are for draining. this is a pretty complex system and requires drilling the back, would take up a lot of space on the inside if you wanted to drill the bottom. also, i dont think you can get bulkheads to seal on a slate bottom so even if you could drill it i think its out of the question.
