    Hi Guys,

I apologize for posting and asking so many questions today. I have the day off and can't stay off of the forum :) Anyway, my tank has always had a lot of "stuff" floating in it that has driven me mad. I have turned everything off one at a time to see if I could find the culprit, but I couldn't. I have an eshopps sump and have my protein skimmer sitting in a separate section from my return pump. The filter pad kept floating away in the sump so I had to lay a couple pieces of rock on it to hold it down. I also cut up a filter sock and placed that piece in the section below the filter pad to make sure I was getting most of the bubbles. I have 2 sponges that are catching most of the bubbles from the refugium side. I must say that everything is still pretty new. I don't think that the problem is microbubbles, which leads me to ask if I need another type of filter. I have checked my fittings to make sure that they are nice and tight. the equipment I have is mag drive 7 return pump, 2 koralia 1 power heads, and a marineland 300 protein skimmer. I don't have the return or power heads pointed directly at anything so I don't think that it is blowing any sand off of the rocks. The area where the return pump is also fairly clean. On the good side, I looked today and saw what are probably copepods crawling all over my glass. I hope that is a good sign. If anyone has experienced this or has any ideas where I could look, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!!!

    Regards,
    Ivy

Not sure what you mean by "stuff floating". Are we talking tiny white particles (which could be debris from your sand, or pods, or bits of fish food - oh, whoops, you have no fish yet...). Or are we talking larger particles?

Sorry to be vague. the stuff I am seeing is tiny particles. nothing big is being blown around. When all of the equipment is turned off, everything just sits there suspended. Thanks!!!!
