Read in another forum that low iron glass is much easier to scratch. My new tank has straphire and I believe it's low iron. So how much easier is it to scratch straphire? My current 55g has reg glass, and the only scratches I made were from when sand got trapped between glass and magnetic cleaning brush.

I'm kinda curious too. If it scratches easily, why not acrylic?

Having had both regular glass and now Starphire, I've found no difference in this department.

I won't speak for the OP, but the durability issue has kept me from trying starphire. This is good to hear.

Glad to hear. Any special tools you use to scrub/scrape your starphire tank?

1/2" glass; I use a hammerhead mag float, and only plastic scrappers along the sand line. Get sand under any cleaner/scrapper, and you're scratching the tank regardless of what it's made of.
