So I have an idea of what I want to stock the tank with but am not sure if what I want is too much for the tank. I do plan on getting an over sized skimmer and plan on a 20 gallon fuge with a 20-30 gallon sump.
    Tank Dimensions are 49.5 l x 22.5 w x 24 h

    Stocking List
    Yellow Tang 8"
    Blue Caribbean Tang 9"
Hippo Tang or Powder Blue Tang 12"/9"

3 Anthias (Ignitus, Dispar or Maldives Lyretail) 3.5-4" ea

2 Filamented Flasher Wrasse (one male one female) 3"ea

    Flame Angel 4"
    O. Clown 3"
Yellow Watchman Goby 3" or Orange Stripe Prawn Goby 4.5"
Neon Goby or Sharknose Goby 2"
    Royal Gramma 3"

I'd like to add a couple more Wrasses too but am not sure I can with this list.

I think that would be very overloaded if you are going to add coral, but also overloaded for FOWLR. The tangs should be in a 6 foot long tank for swimming space. Without the tangs it would be a good stocking list IMO. Maybe one tang would be OK unless you plan on trading them in as they get too large for the tank then you could maybe go with the tangs too.

If I got the Hippo Tang I'd definitely be trading it in, the others say they are fine for the tank size.

What about 2 of the tangs and the rest of the list or perhaps minus the Royal Gramma.

Pass on the powder blue unless you have a very mature and stable setup and a lot of first hand experience with tangs. tho they usually max out at around 8" a 180 with a 6' x 2' footprint is considered the minimum by many.

As far as the tangs go, I would only get the yellow tang. They do okay in smaller tanks. The caribbean blue tang will not be happy in there for very long. They are extremely active. I did a lot of research on them because I wanted one. The hippo tang also gets too big and powder blues are really difficult. I think three tangs in there would be a bit too much! Just my opinion.

    Darn

Double Darn....oh Well guess then I could add a couple more Wrasses or an additional Anthias , or a Blenny instead.

I also like the Chevron Tang, haven't researched it yet though...live A says they only need a 70 gal even though they get 11" am wondering if that's a typo.....seems like that's one, like the hippo tang that would need rehoming when it got too big.

Stick with odd numbers for the anthias. Do 3 or 5. Otherwise there will be fighting and probably killing (especially with the lyretail).

The chevron tang would be okay in there. It does get bigger, but it's a bristletooth tang, so it spends most of the day picking off the live rock and swimming in and out of the rocks. Bristletooths are less active "swimmers" than other tangs. OTher families of tangs need a lot of open space.

That's good to know on both points.
    Thanks.

I think one tang only would be best, but if you went 2 you would need to remove several fish from the list.

Ahh...well as I'd rather have variety maybe just one Tang

    I may 86 the Anthias group for a 2nd tang though....mmmm....decisions, decisions.

    Need a bigger tank :D
but alas there is no space for anything larger.
