I have two modded Maxi-Jets, each with the 2000 GPH prop in them. There both plugged into a JBJ Quadra wavemaker. Consistently when I get home from work around 5 each day, the left sided power head is "stuck" and no won't spin when it has power. Either shaking the power head or taking the shroud off is usually enough to get it going again. Its fine till some point during my work day again when it sticks again.

Anyone seen anything like this before? Do I just have a bad power head or mod kit?

I would at two possible solutions: how old are the maxijets? the impellar may have build up on them causing the magnet not to work properly. either clean off or get new impellars for the maxi jets. the other solution to look at is the post that the blades turn on seated properly into the shroud . can be not aligned right causing the blade not to spin freely.

I have tried several MJ mpod and eco mod kits. Even new I have issues with vibration and other issues telling me that they have issues with the prop not being balanced.

I tried new MJ's, as well, with no change on the kits that were making noise.

I've never had one stop like you, but I am ready to go with probably korallia evolutions mounted on the sure grip 100's. Anything less including the stock korallia mounts won't hold through my tank's walls.
