Awesome new lights Steve. They really make the colors in the coral pop! Thats for sure. This small tank definately has me tempted! to do something small! I love how zoanthids look so huge in little tanks!

Thanks for all the updates! and Good luck with the crab :D.

    thank you all

I might just give a strip of white LED , SMD a go on this set up and do away with the PC lamp

should get an even nice colour, a life time of use and pretty well zero running costs
I reckon it would be good to try them on a nano with beginners corals
and see how the LEDs do in terms of colour, growth and reproduction

Hey question for ya. The LEDs you added. do they add anything to tank other than the blue look. in other words do they add to the watts per gallon or add any par. I love the look of your tank and I have a 5 gallon myself. I would like to add the LEDs also.

    hey pecco22
I have the specs of the LEDS at home, Ill post them later
mine where added simply to compensate for the yellow of the 8500 pc lamp
but LEDS are made in many different specs - there are 1 watt, 3 watt and 5 watt commonly available these days (expensive, but when your only lighting an 18 inch tank and not a 6ft one, more affordable)

    10 week update

still not seen any goby species in the LFS so Im still fishless in this tank
but as you can see the finger leather frag and the toadstool frags are quickly outgrowing this set up

in addition a lot of zoanthid growth over last few weeks with some of the colonies not getting a decent size

still not purchased any corals for this set up, its all coming from my other existing larger tanks
