Yup it is have plenty within 15 miles this one is 5-10 miles or so away.

I got my rock in on the 4th (10 days b4 my b-day) and already have pods (I think..little whitish free swimming things are hard to see) and some white spiral things stuck to the glass and some shells. Parameters are good so far, used pre-cured LR and LS from an established tank plus some dry.

What do you think of my aqua-scaping? Top Down.jpg

    Looks great.

I have to go 30 miles one way to the nearest LFS.

The chainstores don't count as an LFS to me

    Thank you.

    No they don't.
They don't have marine fish anyway..but at least they have some supplies like heaters, marine salt, test kits, frozen/dried/flake food and such, plus they are open later so I can get to them after work and such. So are good for that.

Yikes. That lighting is by no means beneficial to the reef. It may be enough to light it up but thats it. You better get a good lighting setup soon. The problem is you'll want a bigger tank and then that lighting will be useless for it. Also, unlike fresh water you don't want to have a hood on your tank.

Yup I know it sucks. Barely lights it up. Will be getting better soon.

I have a 46 gallon bow front ready and waiting for LS, LR and saltwater...for it I have an Odyssea brand T2 fixture w/ one acentic(sp?) and one 12k daylight light and am already planning on one more set or a single fixture with at least 4 lights in it. I never planned on having just the 10 gal....was planned in conjunction with the 46 for use as a QT tank but will be home to a couple of small inexpensive fish to maintain it. Plus I can use it to start the corals for my 46 ;D.

Sadness at probable loss of 1st coral

I think I'm loosing my Kenya tree...I now know that the base of thepoor thing needs good circulation as well. :(

Was gonna sk for help on getting what I thought was coraline on my glass off...but turned out I could get it off w/my hand...don't know why the glass cleaner thingy diddn't want to work.....guess it's time to get a snail to add to the 5 blue leg hermit crab CUC.
