My blenny has stopped eating - for about the past 2-3 days. His belly is a little concave. He's been swimming fast all over the tank and his coloring is off (lighter than usual) he seems to stay more toward the top of the tank and doesn't stop swimming- I don't see anything on his body. I don't have a QT - is there anything I can do or does anyone know what this might be?

Check the tank temperature.Sometimes loss of color can be due to low temperature. There are many diseases and parasites and without knowing; adding any medication would be sheer gueswork. Can you take a picture of him??If you have some; soaking food in Selcon could help. What are you feeding him/her?

Tank temperature is 79. The only change I've done in the amount of time I noticed the change in him is that I kalk pasted a rock in the tank....could that have done something? I don't have any selcon unfortunately......knock on wood - no other fish seem affected. I have 2 clowns, goby/pistol shrimp, coral beauty angel, and pipefish.

I'd make selcon a staple in your feeding regimen. I had an Ember Bleny very closely related, and it never ate. I tried everything (before my selcon days) and nothing enticed him.

This guy until 2-3 days ago ate great! I feed a very varied diet.....He was probably the biggest pig of the bunch....vinny - I've not posted pics before - I will try to get one up when hubby gets up so he can show me how to use his camera. He just keeps swimming in the upper right corner of the tank.....

I know his color is different at different points.....when he's seemingly a little stressed - this is his coloration. His mouth seems to be kind of open like there's some sort of white swelling in there......of course, when I go to take the picture he's sitting still.....his belly is not distended like earlier in the day....could he have maybe eaten a piece of kalk paste and that's causing this??

He doesnt look too skinny to me. Just keep up with you normal feeding routines, maybe try some nori soak in Selcon or garlic

:-[ should I take him out? and put him out of his misery?? I know he's not well.......I just don't know if he'll get better or not, I wish I knew whether there was a way to tell if he's feeling any pain or not, I know that sounds bizarre in reference to a fish......
