Sponge ID?

    Bought this zoa frag and came with this white spikey sponge thing attached...
    anyideas if its safe, how big will it get?

    Sponges are for the most part safe.

    Of course as soon as I post that someone will find the exception.

    There are 1000's of different types and ID's are difficult (of course as soon as I post that someone will find the exception).

    I find the sponge in the image to be very interesting because it's actually one of the sponges that can change locations.

    If a sponge begins to over take zoanthids, you simply need to take a soft tooth brush and remove it.

    This is the only bad sponge I know.. They are really bad when they turn Emo! ;)

    yeah what i was worried about it spreading and taking over a large area, so ill keep an eye on it and keep it in check if it needs it!
