Technically about an hour and 20 minutes but this will depend on your tap water pressure and temperature. I would say in less than 2 hours.

It is entirely dependent on your water pressure and water temperature.
The 90 GPD is based on 60 psi and 77 degrees F water temp.
Take a look at the calculator at the top of the page at www.buckeyefieldsupply.com and plug in your actual numbers using the 75 GPD membrane setting and you will be very close.

It is best to keep the unit indoors and out of sunlight. The sunlight will cause algae growth in the unit and foul your water. The sun and temperature extreme exposure will cause premature breakdown on the plastic housings also.

    NO!
RO and RO/DI units must be in a climate controlled area away from heat and cold and out of direct lighting or you run the risk of ruining the membrane and growing nasties inside the housings.
A membrane cannot stand anything over 113 degrees and the sun beating on the housing will get hotter than that.

That aside... a housing can be made to cover the unit :D

I run (2) MaxSpec 180s in our greenhouse (gables get 180+ routinely in summer with air temps hitting high 90's in the afternoon) simply covered with some black out cloth. No growth issues, excellent product water and a great ratio. Mine run 24/7 though so my situation is a little different then a hobbyists. My point being it can be done and with some planning it's not really an issue. Daly City has excellent weather, same as mine :)

It is still not recommended by the manufacturers and will void any waranties. Membranes are glued together and the glue releases at 113 degrees F. I have seen delaminated membranes and its not pretty.
