I have several peppermint shrimp, 2 fire and 2 scarlet cleaner shrimp and they all never touch snails. I've never in my years of SW tank keeping seen anyone's ornamental shrimp like these ever attack a snail.

Yeah, having extra shells might help the hermits kill less snails, but that won't stop them completely. A snail to a hermit is like a lunch wagon.

well i can tell you my cleaner shrimp are eating my hermit crabs. seen one going after one one day.... another day i seen one eating one... oh and they are well fed shrimp i over feed my tank.its a problem of mine. i enjoy seeing my pets happy. and would prefer to do more work and over feed than feed less and have less work to do on the tank.

haha. Nice idea. Hopefully my CC bed doesn't get too bad. I'll just clean it more heavily with the siphon.

If cleaner shrimp are killing snails and not just eating ones that have died, then they are not fed enough.

I haven't seen my cleaners do anything to anyone else in the tank. My are nice & clean off my fish. They like to walk up my hand too. :) lol

    Mine actually cleans my hand.

Sometimes it goes and tries to pick on my coco worm, but it can't get inside the coco's tube and just goes and picks at the rocks.
