My LTA appears to be getting nibbled on. there are sections on its long tenticles that are bare. other spots that look like the tips are falling off.

i've had it for quite awhile and never had any problems, it had been my worry free anemone!

the pictures show sections that i'm refering to. i've never seen this before with this anemone maybe its normal?

    anyone have any ideas?

    thanks:)

i have 2 percs but they are in QT right now. This started after they went into QT. My DT is empty except my corals and crabs and shrimp. could it's tips just be falling off or is it wasting away?

its fine. what happens is the tips get twisted and then break off. have had a nem for about 4 yrs now and that happens....dont see it as a problem. does the nem stay put or keep moving around the tank? params are good? are you feeding? and whats the light it's under? what is the circulation like? does it waft in the current or get blown around?
i know alot of questions but it will help diagnose the problem. :D

oh it stays put....params are ideal.
    right now they are:
temp 77, salinity 1.023, dKH 10, phosphate .25ppm, ammonia 0ppm, nitrate 0ppm, pH 8.2-8.4, calcium 460,good water movement, good aeration, they are under t5's 4 x 54W. I was regularly feeding about once a week some silverside or shrimp, but have almost stopped as it has exploded in size and i was told it's not neccessary. I think it gets alot of freebies when i feed frozen food as it usually can sink and break apart faster than my fish can gobble up. i've had this one for almost a year and i love it....easiest anemone by far that i've cared for. just was a little startled when i saw it's tips like that. more than likely it just got twisted and is gonna fall off and it's not something to worry about right?

one thing i did do was move a powerhead a few inches and it might not have been putting enough water current at the anemone and that could be why it got twisted....hmmm....sound possible?
