it's not ich...it's "Velvet"...that's worse. Is there a med for that, or should I just let nature take it's course...now desperate.

How about dosing a little with prime . Helps the slime coat on the fish and stress level a little . Would this help them at all or will it cause the cycle to slow down . Or how about some small water changes . Clowns are very hardy fish , my clowns went through the cycle in my tank ( I didnt know about not adding fish before a cycle ) and I havent had or seen any problems with them at all . Good luck hope he makes it through this tuff time

Ok,my 3 clowns all died...:( Alos lost what they said was a strawberry gobbie, but he was a purple fish. Nitrates are still high, but everything tests great. I miss my clowns, my husband wants to but more at a later time, but I told hi, I would put him in the tank, I can't go through this again, am I a freak, are do you guy's get attached too. I look forward to the 3 clowns waking up from their little bunch & start to swim in the morning. I don't want "cute" anymore. I told him he might as well go get the "eel", and Lion fish, shark, and a tang, I've heard their all mean & now that the clowns are gone, I'm being sad & sulking. We're left now with 2 Blood Shrimp, 2 peppermint (cleaner) Shrimp, Crab that looks like a spider, Flame Scallop, Poly Jaw, Bi-Colored Angel, Foxface, Coral Beauty, Scooter (lawnmower) blenny, Tri-colored Wrasse that stole the home of the Poly Jaw! Seabae Anemone, some snails and a handful of dinky little cleaners crabs...any advice on what's left? also there's still a small clown in the back of the tank we can't reach, some people say just leave him & others say Get it Out! I say out, because of the sickness, any advice on that.

Do fresh Water Dips remove parasites, has anyone done this, and if so can I get directions for it, if recommended...thanks for all your help, Funeral for my clowns is today, moment of silence 12:00 high. (just kidding)

I am sorry the loss of your Clowns. I felt that way when my 6 line wrasse diapered without a trace. He was my favorite.

Give the tank a little time. If the last Clown dies then then get a pair of Clowns - NOT three. Get them small and watch them grow.

For now, keep a close eye on the last Clown. He may make it. If he does it may be hard to introduce him to a new Clown.

Also, keep a super close eye on the Sebae - That must be removed the moment you are sure he has started to go.

I've had to flush one of those myself.

We have a wrass, a pink, white & blue one he's new within the last month...not looking so good. He's the one I mentioned above who took the home of the Poly Jaw, and he's also not looking so hot. We've done another water change, using Prime as always and we're going to do another tonight. When (husband) took the dead clown in the LFS gave him some new Reef Safe medicine called Melafix (liquid) for slime coat and other problems with the tank. I hate the thought of ANY med's, but they said this is more for water level spikes...so, I'll try! (still only Nitrate is high) Still can't locate the last clown & it's been a few days now, I searched again last night with a small flashlight in every crevece of every rock, I hope they didn't eat it because of the illness. Thanks for all your help, I told (husband) after this he's only allowed to buy "ugly" fish, then maybe I won't get attached...yeah right...:)

Here is an article I found to help. Sorry I wish I was a little more knowledgeable and could be there to help you... I love my little clowns and know how you feel.
