some kind of plating sponge or macro algae maybe?

    well about 2 months or so ago, maybe more, i noticed out of nowhere some fluorescent orange on a piece of my LR. So as the time has past it has grown more and more and i like it...it looks cool just not sure on what it is. in the pictures im the mystery organism is under an inch in diameter probably like 1/2 inch it has multiple branches and kind of plates out. it is soft when i touched it so i doubt its a coral maybe some kind of crazy leather but i dont think so....im leaning more toward some kind of sponge or macro

    i checked chucks addiction as well as some other identification sites....i actually found out i have a couple of much less common encrusting sponges that i knew were sponges but never felt inclinded to look up

    Check Reef Cleaners site to see if it is an alga.

    nothing that they have listed...it is a very slow grower as well i should add

    the coloration is similar-ish but the way it is growing doesnt look anything like dragons breath

    not even close lol, it like plates out and is a redish orange color with fluorecent orange edges

    I have something like that in my tank as well. But it doesn't have orange edges. I forget the name of it. I'll try to find it so you can check.
