Making the rounds at Reef-A-Palooza I did a bit of a double-take when I noticed this Solatube booth. Solatube got a booth to learn more about aquariums and their light requirements - it was their first aquarium show! I would love to see Solatube make tubes and lens specially for aquariums. I think it speaks volumes that Solatube wants to learn about aquariums first. What a concept. This could lead to great things ahead.

When Greg Schumann, the Events Manager from Solatube, told me I actually had a bit of a part in Solatube being at the show I was reeling.

As luck would have it, Greg had actually seen my post over the summer about their display at the OC Fair and showed me some of the pictures I posted on his iPhone. Wow. That threw me a bit.

I hope he sees this too and I can hammer him home on the aquarium Solatubes. I'd love to be part of that. Let's make it happen!

Alright! That's awesome. It would be great if they made some stuff specific for aquariums. A filter to cut out some red and yellow light would be perfect!

A fellow in the local reef club uses 4 solatubes over his tank and the growth is incredible. He does accent the solatube light with actinic T5's though.

I'll have to see what they say about my questions/concerns first. ;) This could be an option for me.
