I would say it's the AC as well. Our electric bill was $200 but only because we had the AC on 68 degrees and the temps were in the 90s.

I'd have to go with the AC as well.
My bill is the same as it always was pre-tanks in months where I'm not using the heater and/or AC as much. When we get a cold snap and the heater is on more, the bill is literally at least double what it normally is.

Ac, definitely. temps have been relatively high here, lately. Running in high 80's - mid 90's. When AC was off (all of June) our electric bill was about $100. We turned AC on for the first two weeks of July and the Bill is over $200...that's when we kept the house at 76-78(with AC on). We now leave it off and run a bunch of fans...much less power consumption than a full-house air conditioning(which doesn't seem to work well) or even single window AC unit.

You could even tell on our electric meter...when AC is turned off, the needle goes way down on the meter.

mor than lickly it is the Ac unit espically in the hottst parts and coldest parts of the year. somthing that might help is to clean the coils out to help it breath better so it runs better but thats about all you can do

Coming from someone who has 3 window A/C's and 2 tanks I can tell you it is 100% the AC unit. I have an 87g with 2x250w MH and 4x54w T5 and a 5.5g but only LED. in the winter electric bill is about $175 , my bill that just came last week is $411.82 . It is not the tank , I promise.

we have had like 20 days above 100* this summer, and there are no signs of it ending anytime soon. My bill will be above $300 through the end of September maybe mid October.

    $300 + bills run may-oct. usually
