So sad :(

Ugh. I'm so bummed.

My favorite fish passed away. Rex, my rosy scale wrasse. I had him almost two years.

I believe he got wounded. He's gotten into scuffles before and healed up fine, so I wasn't really too worried. But he died.

He grew up from a tiny 2 inch fish to almost 6 inches and was the most beautiful fish. I'm really going to miss him. He was so personable and was always coming up to me.

I'm pretty sure this is due to my evil sunrise dottyback, who has now killed 4 fish in the tank. I can't catch him. Even when I removed all the rock from the tank I still couldn't find him as he buried into the sand.

But if I know you there will be some retail therapy in your near future to honor Rex's memory

 

The tank definitely isn't the same without him. I love all my fish, but he was the only one I felt attached to. If that makes sense?!

That sucks! Also had a murderous Sunrise dotty. Did the same thing with the rock. Turns out every dottyback ive ever had will wedge themselves into the rocks themselves. So if you have very holy rock you gotta search the rock itself.

 

I hate him. And I don't hate animals, but seriously, I can't stand him. I know he's just being a fish, but ***. I read sunrise dotty backs weren't that mean - so I took the chance. Bad mistake.

He's chased 2 wrasses out of the tank, chased my scooter blenny out of the tank and now killed Rex. I never even see him come out to eat, but he's super fat and happy. Isn't that the way it always works?! Meanie!!!

 

Sorry for the loss Kacy. It really sucks losing a good friend.

 

I almost flushed mine out of spite even though the LFS said they would give me a refud. Almost. And I got out of my way to relocate spiders.

It sucks too because I knew he was dead, he hadn't come out in 2 days. So I told my fiance to take care of it, I couldn't deal with it. My fiance has been gone all day so he couldn't take Rex out yet. I just walked by the tank and there was Rex, right in front on the sand, upside down and lifeless.

I felt sick.

 

I know it's irrational, but I'm furious with him!!!

The next time my tank maintenance guy comes out I'm going to ask him if he can try to catch him again. He couldn't do it when there were no rocks in the tank, but I'm going to ask him to keep trying every time he comes out until he can catch him. He must go!!!
