I baught a snowflake eel today and as soon as i put him in the tank he went under a rock which is usual.. i turned off the lights of the tank on the usual time and he came out of the rock and he will not quit swimming back and forth at a pretty high speed...This concerns me cause im thinking he might go into stress..any idea on whats happening is this normal?

Hunting maybe? I imagine they hunt at night. Someone more qualified might have a better answer, though.

I spot feed mine every 2-3 days...although sometimes if he's hungry enough he'll come out to eat when I feed my other fish which is once a day.

he's fine. he'll settle down. watch out if you dont feed them for a while, they'll try to get out of the tank.. make sure your lid is weighed down or duct taped..

Mine swam around like that every night for awhile at lights off. I think he was just making sure there wasn't anything new to eat in the tank.
