o.k. it's been awhile but I remember reading about this tiny snail I belive it is a pest, but I cant rember the name to research it. I seem to have them on my thirty gal coral tank. I have let some algae grow pretty heavy on the side of the tank exposed to the window, when I went to remove it I found these tiny, tiny snails as well as what I belive to be adult copeds swimming in the same area. I am to computer illiterate, to send pics. Can some one help me out here?

I would guess if they're in the algae, and not on the corals, that they're algae eaters.

SushiGirl is probably right, they are most likely either Collonista/Homalopoma species or rissoids, depending on the shape. There is a very slim chance they'll be eating anything other than your algae.

    Cheers,

thanks for the site corailline, it didnt id the snail though it does look like a nerite,( which I dont think are salt water) the site explains of all snails there are two types; algae eaters, and scavengers. They do appears to be algae eaters, so I guess they have a perment home. lol, my husband says I am trying to feed the world, But I think he meant unwanted house guests, not hichhikers!!!!

    Nerites are saltwater.
What shape are your snails? Round? Pyramid?
    And what color?

These guys live in their shells and filter feed. They are harmless additions to your reef. If they are on the glass blocking your view then scrape them off, but other than that they won't cause any problems, let them be.
