Internal overflow with durso pipe, snails got curious and worked their way inside... Is a net/screen/cover (similar to tank cover) for the overflow a good way to prevent this from happening?

Should I use the screen to make a fence for the overflow?

    Thanks!

Make a fence with the screen it will be easier to get at come cleaning time. Don't worry about dwarf Ceriths creating any problems though.

Thanks 4 the help! I'll have to research ways to make it effectively.

PS. I learned the benefit of making an appropriate sized return area in the sump.... (If that makes sense?) Just saying, an over-sized return may cut back on top-offs but leaves more room for overflowing the DT if snails or something happens to be blocking traffic.

    Thanks again.
