Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed these "snails" ... but in the past few days I have seen massive numbers of them crawling on the glass at night.

They are conical, like a limpet.

Can anyone ID them and do I need to be worried about them?
Sorry for the blurry pics ....

    Thanks

They may be full grown. Some don't grow bigger than that.

Are they beneficial as part of the CUC or can the be a pest?

I like them. They will only minimally clean your film algae.... but I don't consider them a pest.
