Is it common for a Huma Trigger to eat snails. Since I have added him to my tank he has destroyed my snail population. What can I give him to keep him away from the snails.:furious3:

It's totally normal for a trigger of any sort to eat snails, crabs, shrimp and other inverts. That's their primary diet. You're not gonna stop it.

The only thing you can give him is more snails. :p Any other inverts in the tank?

Well if there is they won't be in there for long!

Not to pick on the original poster, but this is why research is very important in this hobby. A quick Google search (or asked about the fish on here) and you would of known that your snails would be his first meal.

It's going to be difficult to keep your tank clean without snails, crabs, etc. I'd take the Trigger back and get something else. JM2C ;)

That was one of my first fish (about 3 inches) in my FOWLR and i had a giant hermit just a little smaller than my fist and it would still try to go after the crab, and when i decided i wanted to transfer to a reef 3 years ago he was unfortunetley one of the first to get rehomed. by the way they are very hard to get out since that trigger locks them in a little cave or hole and they wont come out for some time. Good Luck and i hope it all works out for you.

You can keep a cuc, they just need to have very hard shells. They last longer than you would think. The soft shelled guys are goners.
