I have a few astrea snails and I've always noticed one looked as though there was a tumor growing on the bottom side of its shell. Was bored at work today so I jumped online to see why my condylactis anemone was starting to get a tan shade instead of it's pure white tenticals, and I realized what I had on my astrea snail was a slipper snail attached. The article I read mentioned they usually bunker down somewhere and stay permanently. Just was wondering if they were something to worry about later down the road when my tank starts to age.

Link to what I've been reading on them - they seem fun and harmless: http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/animals/AnimalDetails.aspx?enc=VsGX Lst7Qb7rpU4HHxl5g==

Based on the article I would say most likely they would be no problem.
