Well it's been long in the process in getting the stand built to to point I can get my new tank delivered ( hard when you have to borrow tools) and it's nearly there. Just have to finish staining the top and painting the frame all around to seal the wood.

The tank has nearly the same dimensions of a 120 but I like that the glass on this tank since it's low lead like Starfire glass and there is no center brace...I also like the black glass band on the top and bottom of the tank.

It may take a while to finish the tank enough to start it cycling but I figured I can post what I've done so far.

    The stand.

That's a very stout looking stand! Congratulations on a job well done! This is going to be exciting and I'll definately be following along! :)

Thanks...yes it is, I wanted to be sure it'd hold up without a center brace on the stand. I've got the first coat of polystain on the plywood for the top....then get to sand it today and add a 2nd coat...then a final clear coat.
Hope to get the plywood for the sides soon but should get the tank delivered before then. For doors I'll go to the Habitat for Humanity store and see if I can find the right size there, if not I'll see if my dad can help me make some.

After that it's on to the overflow, which will be a coast to coast Beananimal (on RC) style.

I finished getting the stand painted today. I used a hammered silver paint for the inside since it seems white would be harder to keep looking nice.

Will put a plywood skin on later and some doors.

    Thanks.

Thank you. I hope so too...though if my dad can make me some I'd love it since I really want the top of the door arched (the inside portion of the top rail that is).

I have plans for the sump, which will be custom made so I can make full use of the space under the tank. I'm hoping to get a 20 gallon Fuge and another 20-30 gal for the sump portion.
