So I was wondering, is it possible for the sting of a rose BTA to kill a skunk cleaner?

The skunk has been hanging around the BTA for the past 2 weeks and been perfectly ok. I came home today to find he had molted and searched the tank for him. Eventually found him between two rocks near the anemone, unfortunately dead. Is this possibly due to the fact that he was more susceptible to the sting of the anemone right after molting?

Checked the water and the pH is 8.3 and ammonia, nitrites and nitrates are all 0.

i think they may be susceptible. it sounds more than likely that his molt didnt go very good thou. if he were to get stung by the bta it would have happened already i think

How would a molt going awry kill him? I was under the impression that faulty molting would only occur in inadequate water or when trace elements and the correct diet are not being supplied? The water quality has been fine and I have been replenishing trace elements in the tank.

Please educate me if I am operating under the wrong assumption, as I would like to figure out what caused this before going out and buying another one.

Please don't take what I said before the wrong way. I did not mean for it to come across how you perceived it. I just wanted to know more about the topic. Thanks for the help.
