Hi all, about my cloudy eye angel issue, should I keep the skimmer on during treatment with antibiotics? I dosing 1g of amoxicillin daily and doing 20% water changes every other day. Sine I started antibiotics, my ammonia is 1.0 and nitrites are .25 as compared to the usual 0.0 all round.
I don't know if the skimmer will skim out the antibiotics thus hindering it's effects on the fish. It's a 75gal QT.

Skimming will always "skim" out certain elelments and proteins. What does the label say about skimmers? Luna

i would read the bottle if your suppose to turn the skimmer off or not. if bottle doesn't say any thing and your skimmers going crazy i would turn it off otherwise no.

the parameter spike is normal the antibiotics are killing your bacteria hence antibiotics(or anti-life in latin)

It's actually a human antibiotic:drool: So the label doesn't say anything about skimming
