Hey all, I'm shopping for a new skimmer and my LFS has SC 303 for decent prices and I like the footprint. I'd like to hear some pros and cons before I buy it. Thanks guys and gals

I like the reviews I found and read so I pulled the trigger on the SC302 skimmer. It should work great for my 75 reef, pick it up tomorrow. Should be a step up from my coralife skimmer

I use an SC 301 on my 50. Great simmer I think! I dry skim, and still have to empty the cup weekly.

    I've been/still using a SC150, I think it's now called the SCA 303?
Anyways, still and always has pulled some great skim.
I currently use it on my system, that has ~260g!
It pulls dark skim everyday, I empty the cup at least half full every day.
Easy to adjust- but rarely needs it.

Mine is pushed by the Atman 2500.
The first one went out/had impellar problems after over 2 years.
Instead of buying a new impellar- I got a new Atman 2500- with improved/differendt impellar
for about $54 shipped.- Still works great.

    This skimmer was ~$95 shipped.

I've only took it apart and vinegar cleaned it once in over 3 years!
I do run my RO/DI line down the air intake house every few weeks to keep the small tube going to the venturi free of salt creep.

    Best bang for the buck

Ya, between work picking up like crazy, and now having two kids, it leaves me little time to get online much. Trying to get back on here more and more though :)

I totally understand buddy, I've got a little one on the way. Skimmer didn't fit in my current sump so now I'm building a new sump. Never ends, lol
