skimmer question

    Are hang on skimmers loud? If so can anyone suggest a quiet one

    If so can i turn the protein skimmer off at night? The tank is right near my bed lol

    While mine runs 24/7, some people do run theirs on a timer, particularly those with corals that like "dirtier" water. That of course being a relative term. As long as your tank does not get out of whack running it part time, i see no issue. If you are not running one now, a part time one will make a big improvement in your tank i should think.

    if its not to loud i will just leave it on. my only concern is it will keep me awake

    Can u guys suggest any good hang on back skimmers that are on the quieter side

    well depending on ur tank size reef octopus bh1000 worked great for me

    Aquamaxx's HOB unit is very quiet and works great, mine runs 24/7 and all I can hear is a little bit of the air intake which is a very muffled noise at most.
