I took apart the skimmer pump to try and beat the monthly calcium carbonate plug that forms. Cleaned the needle wheel while I was at it. Put everything back together and didn't work. Nothing. Dead. Took it apart a couple more times and I think put it together the rite way. Anyway, can't see any other way to put it back together. Hard to believe it died that suddenly. Any ideas on what I can check? I have this background feeling that I did something wrong or killed it somehow. The closest replacement is 2 hours away. Maybe 2-3 days via amazon.

Hmmm...sometimes I have to give my pumps a little jumpstart. With the pump submerged and going give the impeller a little flick and see if that helps?

OK. Got it going. I think I'll order another one just in case. Thanks for the help.

OK the pump seems to have for tonight. I procrstinated and didn't order another one. Just ordered it tonight and won't be in for about 5 days. Any idea what I can expect for the water condition or steps I should be taking?

If you're worried, do a WC will help. Say 10-20%?

YOu could put your system specs like DT size, etc. in your signature- I'm just saying
