I have seen a number of threads where Silver Sides are food for both fish/snails/coral.

I bought some, but would like to know how to prepare them to feed corals. Anyone have a secret formula they would like to share? ;)

cut them in sizes smaller than the coral you are feeding. thaw them. (I prefer that order)

    feed.

    done.

    :)

    good luck.

It always amazes me how large a meal some corals can eat. My frogspawn can easily eat a silverside bigger than my pinky finger, and the coral is only maybe 5" across.

I have a mushroom that can eat 2 cubes of mysis and it's maybe 2" across.

    ... crazy eaters.

that is true... sometimes i feed my bubble an entire 3 inch silver side... head, tail and all whole.

when I do this, it'll stay closed up(ish) for a week or more... If I feed it smaller pieces (same frequency, so less overall meaty food), it stays open more. Which makes sense to me... This applies to all my LPS that will accept food (my frogspawn and hammer wants no food from me).

For this reason I have stopped feeding maximum amounts to my corals.

I heard eels and other fish can get a disease from silversides, is there any relevance to this? I just want to know because my eel got mysteriously ill and died and I never want it to happen again if it was because of this.
