i got a 75g setup thats been up for maybe 4 months. 2 months ago i bought 2 b/w clowns and they were the only fish i had in there up until a week ago i bought 3 green chromis. before my clowns were kinda lazy lol but ever since i bought the chromis my clowns are more active swimming waaaay more. there's no agression to the chromis, i was just curious if the clowns were possibly bored if that makes sense and are happy to have "friends" in the tank with them??

I have a 75g, fish were a sixline wrasse, one perc. clown, and a sailfin tang, veliferum type. I added a Midas Blenny and a yellow clown goby that I had in QT for 6 weeks and they were healthy and active when they went into DT, all 5 fish are very active, whereas before, the clown was almost always in a cave area and the sixline swam around in the rocks. Now all fish kind of school around, get along well, swim in the power head current, it's so cool! I see a lot of them during lights on even the little clown goby. Enjoy your fish!

they might have gained more of a sence of security, think about it two clowns being alone in a 75 gallon thats a big tank for them and once they saw the chromis out and about and not getting eatin haha they prlly felt safe to spend more time in the open.

i have heard many stories just like this about fresh and salt water fish.

I agree, it's probably more likely a sense of security. I've read some other experiences where confident open-swimming fish sometimes "teach" more reclusive fish that it's OK to come out and swim around.

Some wrasses are considered to be the perfect kind of fish to encourage others to swim out and about.
