I think my lawnmower blenny is sick.. We just got it about 3 weeks ago and with in the last day or two it has been hiding a lot and lost some wight as well as color. I don't think its eating, because it has been hiding I haven't been able to watch it. I haven't seen it eat off the glass and the sub straight like it usually does.. What should I do? Me and my husband were thinking about going to the pet store to get some seaweed and see if it would eat that.. any suggestions??

I'd get some seaweed and see if you could temp him to eat, have you tried to spot feed him where he is--also If you soak Th food in garlic extreme it might tempt him to eat.

My lawnmower blenny of almost a year just abrupty stopped eating and died. My gf's lawnmower of 8 months is doing the same rite now.....no reasons at all. I have tried spectrum pellets/flakes, omega flakes, red, green, purple seaweed, rods food, (herbivore mix and original mix), mysis, garlic, vitachem/selcon soaked, u name it i tried it. Just seem to go on hunger strike....dunno why. Have u added any fish to yer tank since him? I know hawkfish will harass them into not eating but other than that it seems to be a mystery to me. I wont buy another one.

They are a strange bunch the LM blennies. Lots will not even accept prepared foods. Mine has been alive for about two months now. Most are grazers and must have a constant source of food on the LR and/or glass. So an exceptionally clean tank will cause some to starve. They are a little difficult to care for so don't feel bad. The garlic idea is a good one. Go with it and good luck. John.

Thanks you guys!! My husband is getting some seaweed right now, I just hope this works. I really like our blenny... Also, in regard to luvreefs23 questions, we haven't added any new fish to the tank, our tank is only 26gal and we don't want to over crowd it. Thank you all again for the quick responses...!!
