I was given this coral when I purchased a bunch of live rock. Not sure if it can be saved but seems to have deteriorating flesh on one side. Any ideas on what I can do to try and save this poor fella?

I can't see a coral in the pic - can you drop a better pic?

Someone else with better eyes might be able to get more answers. Some corals require more light than otheres - do you know what you have there? I wish I could tell you more, but I relaly can't make much out in the picture. If it were me (assuming my water was good) I would move hte rock adjusting the light the little bugger gets.

If your talking about that white-ish with brownish color looking thing on the upper left side of the first pic, It looks like a sponge to me. Luna

Can't really see based on the two pictures you sent. Do me a favor and remove the piece of rock with the coral on it. Smell it and if it has a putrid smell to it, it is probably polluting your water and you will need to remove it ASAP with a tooth brush or similar tool.
