I've never had mine pick at my inverts either.

I throw in some pellets in the morning before work & which ever food they get (I vary it) in the evenings.

The only violent behavior mine has it that it will be all over a snail that falls or otherwise flips over. Never seen it pick at them or induce said flip, but fair game when it happens.

::sigh:: Yes. You know, this is a fish that my b/f picked out and I just assumed he knew what he was talking about. That figures. I know LFS told him it would be perfectly fine. They even sold us these shrimp that've had such a gruesome fate knowing this fish was in my tank. Ridiculous. What's more is when I asked them (LFS) about it they said that it absolutely couldn't be.

Lol. I used to have a roommate that would crack jokes about "harpooning my fish". Even went so far as to get a sewing needle and a rubber band. Course they wouldn't have done it but you reminded me of that. Thanks. I needed a laugh.

Mine looks exactly like that... And see, I was scolded for feeding everyday. This is entirely my fault for not researching and trusting what I was told. I'm an idiot. :-/ She polished several of them off in about 2.5 weeks. Poor guys.

Fantastic. I actually saw on youtube a kid make one out of a 16.9oz bottle, but I think chunk-o would have a hard time getting in there. I'm exaggerating, of course, but she is a wide-load now :-/

You could keep an eye on it before lights out and find out where it is bedding down.Wait a few minutes and scoop a pile of sand and the wrasse right out.It worked for me on a Formosa wrasse.

Thanks for the help you guys! I'm not gonna lie, I'm disgusted that this has happened. Also with the fact that when I said "this has to be why they're disappearing", I was told "no, no, no... they don't ever do that." So, I have no more inverts in my tank as far as shrimps and anemones go. Will I have to worry about anything else? I've got 2 acro crabs, hermits and snails (never seen her flip a snail.) Are they doomed?

What pellets do you feed? I'm not opposed to multiple feedings. She won't eat anything but brine soaked in garlic and purple algae. I've tried a couple other foods but honestly never tried pellet.

On a kind of unrelated subject, what do you use to soak food in?

now that's an AMAZING idea! I don't mind the trap but this seems like it'd be simpler and I won't have to worry about catching the wrong fish and causing it any stress.
