yeah, it looked like it was at least a 96watt PC setup(cooling fans in it also), dunno if its t5 or not, I could always pick up a used one on ebay if its not enough, it was used as a salt tank though, but i think FOWLR the tank is an ALL Glass brand which I always thought was good, but i could be wrong, and the stand was homebuilt, looked decent, said he made it to support alot of wieght from all the rock he had in the tank. said its perfect like new condition

On the shrimp vs. eggs thing, 1) many are hermaphrodites 2) many die after laying (I've read it's about 50/50). I had a pair of peppermints, and one died the day after a second egg laying (about 3 months in). The other has always been active and healthy.

I knew some marine animals died after laying eggs, just didnt know if the shrimps did it, that seems like what may have happened, cause it died fairly quick

just checked the tank to find another dead shrimp, 3rd one came walking out and walked across the tank and went behind a rock...how long do shrimp normally live age wise, cause these are pretty large for peppermints so I dunno how old they are.
