    Hello
I am starting to look around for a quarantine tank and can I just get a starting aquarium kit at walmart?

Now for corals do you quarantine them and If you do then I need the right lighthing for them. How do you set it up cheap?

I understand how to quarantine fish but really confuse with coral.
My tank is not ready for coral yet but I will be bying the tank soon I want to get the right one set up the right way.

    Also why quarantine coral?

    Thanks:)

    What kind of coral?

The reason I quarantine coral is because I've already had many losses due to montipora eating nudibranchs. I've also had to treat the tank for red bugs.

It is always a good idea to quarantine all your new livestock IMO. Although I don't do it Because of the lack of lights for coral.
The reason why I think it is a good idea to have them in a separate tank for at least 4 weeks it's because corals can carry parasites with them. Although they don't get infected by them they can still carry it.
If you quarantine your coral then that parasite will die on it's own.

Although a good idea I think it's a PITA to quarantine everything you buy.

It's more of a PITA to throw away thousands of dollars worth of coral after it has been eaten by pests IME :D
