    Also to add, they are nocturnal and generally live less than 2 years so unless the one you're getting is very young you likely won't have it very long anyway.

    I have had octopus before and I can tell you this.
    1. They are VERY VERY VERY intelligent.
    2. The hardest part about keeping one is actually keeping it inside the tank. Escape artist is an understatement.
    3. Feeding can be a challenging task, but you can try live crabs and fish. Feeding time can be expensive as well.
    4. As mentioned earlier, they do need a "cave" to hide in and are rarely seen unless its hungry or feeding time.

    i just built a lid that is completely sealed, i built a part that actualy fits PERFECT around my hob filter, and once i get my skimmer ill build somthing over and around it to....
    besides.... :( i told the guy at the lfs to hold it for me and id be back for it in an hour... and he said ok, i went back to pick it up and some1 else told him to hold it (after i already told him to) he said :oops: sorry man... i forgot!:argue:
    and now i have no octopus till next wensday... :furious:

    i already did :) i told him thats redicoulous, how could he forget about some1 whos spent alot of money the past 2 weeks buying amillion corals? he said idk man we were busy...
    i said ok as long as ur remember to give me a discount next time ill be ok he said ok :)

    You really need to keep them entertained as well. They're very intelligent and learn very quickly. Different puzzle boxes and such should be offered. An octopus without stimuli would be like sitting a two year old on the floor for hours on end without anything to do.....Gets ugly quick, LOL.

    yea i planned getting a pretty nice hand crafted rock that has a cave in it and its pretty big.... and i was ganna throw some tubes and stuff like that into his tank to keep him ocupied
