I went to the LFS yesterday and brought my parents. I hadn't planned on buying anything, more of a looking and planning trip and show them all the pretty colors, so I was nervous when dad started pressuring me, even offering $200 for fish or corals for the tank. Well I talked with the guys at the store for a while getting ideas, but decided to wait until I had some more time to think and plan a list. I think I'm going to wait until later in January, after my snowboarding trip, before I start with corals, and just go fish for now.

    Looking at:
    1 Royal Gramma Basslet
    1 6 Line Wrasse
    1 Helfrich Firefish
    1 Kaudern Cardinal
and maybe one more Fairy Wrasse or Anthias.

    Right now I have:
    4 BG Chromis
    2 True Percs

The only other fish I plan on adding in the future are:
    1 Red Mandarin
1 Purple Tang (Last fish I add.)

All that would be pushing the tank limit for a 120, but should be fine for now. All my params are 0's What do you guys think? Thanks

Oh and I'll be doing the shopping this week, maybe tonight after work. We have company over this weekend so it would be nice to have a lot more color and life in the tank for them to ogle at lol.

Bio-Reef. I've been to a couple but I like them the best. Always have an amazing selection, very nice staff, and best prices.

    You in the Jacksonville area?

Ok I'll hold off on the fairy wrasse then. I am a big fan of fish in pairs though, just like the way they look together. Do you think a pair of firefish and cardinals would be too much or ok?

Kudos for holding off and having patience. Rushing into things is a good way to fail. :)

I think your stocking is OK, I would do a little more research on the 6 lines though. I've read they often get aggressive when they get older, especially with other wrasses.

If you like pairs look at some flasher wrasses they do really cool flashing displays in their mating rituals in their harems.

EDIT: Also I just realized you mentioned doing this late in January. I hope you aren't referring to putting all the fish in at once? It's better to put them in gradually in phases, give the system and the fish time to adjust to the new bioload and stress from being in a new tank etc.

Yea its tough to wait, but I'm def doing everything I can to avoid problems.

The guys at the LFS said that the 6 line would get mean as he gets older, and he didn't recommend it since I have several peaceful fish in there. But it is a 120G, I'm sure there is enough room for him to have his territory and not pick on anyone else. And I'm waiting on him anyway, get all my peaceful fish first and let them settle in before I add any aggressive fish.

No I'm not adding them all at once! Right now I've been adding around two fish every two weeks. :) I did end up getting a pair of Banggai Cardinalfish last night. They went in nicely, still a little skiddish in the corner but they are starting to venture out.

your going to love the helfrichi, their just very shy at first, at least mine was, it took him a month to come out of hiding when i first got him, and there were only two other fish in the tank. But now he's out almost all day. You might not be able to see him much in a tank that large becaue they are just so small. But their so beautiful and worth it, i love mine. And make sure you have a lid on your tank with no spaces for them to jump, mine has tried once but my lid has stopped. They also accept food easily, mine has accepted frozen brine and mysis shrimp along with flakes all soaked in garlic. They are also very timid fish so make sure there wont be any bullies, but in a tank that large i think you should be ok.

i love mine and they are very beautiful little fish, good luck with yours, your going to love them
