Very nice find. I say wait also. That would make a beautiful reef tank and with a 55 as a sump that will be a beast of a setup.

I think you should be concerned about that tanks condition though from the pic it looks like there is a large growth in the tank.

Yeah I get 210gal as well... Fujin, to calculate the volume you just multiply LxWxH x 7.5
I guess the previous owner included the sump volume to get 260gals. But a monster still.. I wish I could get my hands on a tank like that for that great price. Can't wait to see it up and running. Personally, I would go with a huge reef or a FOWLR. I like to see lots of fish. But hey if ur into sharks, by all means go with it. Indeed, it will be real cool to have a live shark at home;);D
    Cheers

I'm with mike, the're really is a large growth in there. Try using a mixture of vinegar, bleach and water. That should do the trick lol;);););)

Nice find... all these people finding nice tanks at goodwill. Wow.
I would go with the 55 as a sump and set it up as a reef.
That will keep you from redoing everything later.
Where are you from in Ohio? Not sure where that city is..
I am at the border of Ohio in Ky.

Bamboo sharks do well in a tank as small as a 150. Or so Iv heard. Im with you personally. I tend to think they would need a large square tank. Wouldnt need to be too deep because they are bottom dwellers. Been wondering if a large frag tank would be a good option.

Yeah, Im in Ohio. It's next to Zanesville. I was wondering if I could do both? Use the 55 as a sump, get sand and live rock, make it all reef-like but just put in all corals and a single shark? Would that work? Would the shark harm the coral or put too much strain on the system to support coral?

And thats not a growth in the tank. Its just a small pile of old sand.

It would be difficult to maintain good enough water qualities with such a large fish in the tank and you'll have to be very selective with the clean up crew. With a desent amount of seaweed, a good clean up crew, live rock, and a decent skimmer in your sump, in conjunction with regular water changes you would possibly beable to keep corals.

I would be more worried about the rock and corals hurting the shark.
